AAMO Awards Night 2020

The Asian Association of Management Organisations (AAMO) Awards Night, hosted by Management Association of Nepal, was held on 7th February 2020 at Kathmandu, Nepal.

Mr. Rajive Kaul, President, AAMO, Past President, AIMA & Chairman, NICCO Group delivered the welcome address and presented the AAMO Visionary Leader & Nation Builder Award to the Chief Guest on the occasion the Prime Minister of Nepal, Mr K P Sharma Oli; in the presence of his wife Ms Radhika Shakya; Mr Gokul Prasad Baskota, Minister for Communication and Information Technology & Urban Development, Nepal; Mr Basanta Kumar Nembang, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transportation, Nepal; Prof. Dr. Puspa Raj Kadel, Vice Chairman of National Planning Commission, Nepal and Mr Sushil Bhatta, President, Management Association of Nepal and Member - National Planning Commission. The AAMO Asian Leadership Award for 2020 was presented to Mr D Shivakumar, Group Executive President, Aditya Birla Management Corp Pvt Ltd – nominated by AIMA and to Mr Chandra Prasad Dhakal, Co-Founder and Chairman, IME Group, Kathmandu – nominated by Management Association of Nepal (MAN) by the Prime Minister of Nepal.

AAMO instituted the AAMO Asian Leadership Award in 2019 to honour and recognise business leaders from the Asia Pacific region, who demonstrate outstanding and visionary leadership. Each year AAMO member nations nominate one industry leader from their respective countries to receive this Award. Speaking on the occasion Mr Rajive Kaul said, “The mandate of AAMO is to promote and support the development of professional management in the Asia Pacific Region, and would continue to create platforms such as these for recognising and rewarding excellence, while actively furthering the management profession by building capability and enhancing management thought.”

The programme, attended by several political leaders of Nepal and industry captains from the region, was very well received.
