The Asian Association of Management Organisations (AAMO) holds its First Council Meeting for 2019 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on
28th – 29th April 2019 hosted by the
Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM).
AAMO delegates representing eight (8) Asian Regions countries have attended this year’s first council meeting namely Malaysian Institute of Management, Institute of Managers & Leaders, Macau Management Association, All India Management Association, Hong Kong Management Association, Management Association of Pakistan, Management Association of Nepal and Institute of Management of Sri Lanka.
The meeting begins with a presentation by a Guest Speaker, Mr George Aveling, Chief Reimagineer from Elementrix Sdn Bhd on the topic “Digital Learning in Asia”.
The key Agenda of the First Council Meeting this year were mainly focused on the planned activities and programs under the flagship of AAMO for 2019 including the new membership initiatives, approval of interim budget for 2019/2020, as well as the handover of AAMO Presidency and Secretariat from the current office bearers, Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM) to All India Management Association (AIMA). This handover will be happening at the Second AAMO Council Meeting which was scheduled to be held on 23rd – 25th October 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand.
As 2019 marks the third and final year for MIM to hold the Presidency & Secretariat Office for AAMO, MIM has organised the
20th AAMO Triennial Conference and Awards Dinner to coincide with this meeting. With the theme of
‘Towards High Impact Leadership’, MIM have line-up a list of speakers of thought leaders to share their expertise, ideas and practical insights as a key take away during this half-day conference.
This 2-days event culminates with the 20th AMMO Triennial Gala Dinner and Awards Night which brought together distinguished national and international personalities from various industries, both private and public sector to share ideas, insights and spark fresh thinking at the same avenue. The highlight of the night was the conferment of the AAMO Visionary Leader and Nation Builder Award to the Prime Minister of Malaysia, The Honorable Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. His wise leadership, dynamism and foresight have been a tremendous source of inspiration not only for Malaysians but for leaders across the region.
